New features at a glance
Advanced device filtering
- It is now possible to filter the device list based on device properties, device/display options and installed/scheduled applications. This advanced filtering can be used together with the previously available filtering methods.
- The advanced device filtering can be configured by clicking on the dedicated "filter" button which is located to the right of the search box above the device list.
- The modal window will be opened after clicking the "filter" button.
- The filter conditions can be configured in the modal window by entering the data into the editable fields and clicking the "Add" button on the right-hand side of the editable fields.
- Each previously added filter condition can also be removed by clicking the "Remove" button on the right-hand side of the line with the filter condition.
- It is possible to remove all the filter conditions at once by clicking the "Reset Filter" button. It is also possible to cancel all the changes without saving by clicking the "Cancel" button.
- Each condition can be applicable to one of the following: device properties, device/display options and installed/scheduled applications. The exact type can be selected in the first editable field:
- The type "any option" needs to be selected to filter devices by either device or display options.
- The type "device option" needs to be selected to filter devices by device options.
- The type "display option" needs to be selected to filter devices by display options.
- The type "device property" needs to be selected to filter devices by device properties.
- The type "application" needs to be selected to filter devices by installed/scheduled applications.
- For conditions based on device properties or device/display options, the next step is to enter the exact name of the desired device property or device/display option. After that we can choose the filtering method in the next editable field:
- The method "is" needs to be selected for the exact matching with the value which should be specified in the last editable field. For security reasons, such conditions will not work for the "secret" device/display options.
- The method "is not" needs to be selected for the exact negative matching with the value which should be specified in the last editable field. For security reasons, such conditions will not work for the "secret" device/display options.
- The method "is like" needs to be selected for the partial matching with the value which should be specified in the last editable field. For security reasons, such conditions will not work for the "secret" device/display options.
- The method "is not like" needs to be selected for the partial negative matching with the value which should be specified in the last editable field. For security reasons, such conditions will not work for the "secret" device/display options.
- The method "exists" needs to be selected for the exact matching by name ignoring the value. Such conditions will also work for the "secret" device/display options.
- The method "does not exist" needs to be selected for the negative exact matching by name ignoring the value. Such conditions will also work for the "secret" device/display options.
- For conditions based on installed/scheduled applications, the next step is to select the application from the provided list. After that we can choose the filtering method in the next editable field:
- The method "is" needs to be selected for the exact matching with the application status (installed or scheduled) which should be selected in the last editable field.
- The method "is not" needs to be selected for the exact negative matching with the application status (installed or scheduled) which should be selected in the last editable field.
- Up to 10 conditions can be configured in total.
- Once all the required conditions are configured, the configuration can be applied by clicking the "Apply Filter" button. It is important to remember that the draft condition information present in the editable fields will not be automatically applied by clicking the "Apply Filter" button, it needs to be added into the condition list first.
- The dedicated "filter" button which is located to the right of the search box above the device list will have a different colour when the filter is not empty. To reset the filter, click the "filter" button and then click "Reset Filter" button in the opened modal window. To modify the filter, click the "filter" button and continue editing in the opened modal window.
Advanced Chrome Enterprise diagnostics
- It is now possible to see the Chrome Enterprise diagnostics information in one place as well as load the latest data from Chrome Enterprise when required without waiting for automatic synchronisation to be completed. Please note that this feature will not be available if the Chrome Enterprise integration is not enabled in the account settings.
- The advanced Chrome Enterprise diagnostics information is available in the "Diagnostics Tab" tab in the collapsible section called "Chrome Enterprise Information".
- The "Chrome Enterprise Information" section is collapsed by default and needs to be expanded by clicking anywhere in the collapsed area.
- The "Chrome Enterprise Information" section contains the extract from the Chrome Enterprise relevant to the given device.
- It is also now possible to see the device connection status to Chrome Enterprise servers in the top of the "Chrome Enterprise Information" section. This connection status is independent from the standard meldCX connection status as it does not check the meldCX connectivity and only reports connectivity to the Google servers. It is important to remember that the Google connectivity checks normally have interval between 15 minutes and 1 hour and cannot be controlled by meldCX.
- The time when the Chrome Enterprise information was last updated is specified in the top part of the "Chrome Enterprise Information" section. All the information, including the connectivity checks, is only guaranteed to be valid at this specified point of time.
- It is now possible to load the latest data from Chrome Enterprise when required without waiting for automatic synchronisation to be completed. This will also update the connection status to Chrome Enterprise servers according to the latest data provided by Google. This process can be initiated by clicking the "Get Latest Data" button in the bottom part of the "Chrome Enterprise Information" section.
