Create Bootable USB drives
System Requirements
The following are the requirements to create a bootable USB flash drive with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Image

| Rufus App | Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pen drives, memory sticks, etc. |
| Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Image | This is an Ubuntu image to install on your Edge device |
| USB Flash Drive | At least 8Gb USB flash drive |
Install Rufus and Create a Bootable USB drive
Refer to the Rufus interface and 4-step guide to create a bootable Windows USB drive:
Step 1. Insert a USB drive (>8GB) into your PC and launch Rufus.
Step 2. Set the Device to your USB drive and click SELECT to select the Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7 installation media.
Step 3. To format, set the Volume label and leave the File system and Cluster size to default.
Step 4. Click START and wait until Rufus creates a particular Windows installation media USB for you.
Ubuntu 20.04 Linux Setup Guide
BIOS Configuration
1. The first step before installing Linux is to make sure the system BIOS is set up correctly.
- Boot into BIOS by pressing the function F1 key at the “Company Logo” splash screen
- Tab over to the Security tab and select “Secure Boot”.
- Check whether Secure Boot is disabled. If found enabled, disable it.
- Save changes by pressing an F10 function key.
Installing Ubuntu Linux 20.04 LTS
Please refer to the following instructions and screenshots on how to install Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
1. Insert the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS installation media. Follow the needed steps to create the bootable USB drive above.
2. Power on the system and press the F12 function key whenever the "Company Logo" splash screen appears.
3. Select the Linux bootable installation media from the F12 boot menu list.
4. Select “Ubuntu” from the GRUB boot menu and press enter.

5. Select the “Install Ubuntu” option on the welcome screen.
6. Select the appropriate keyboard layout and language and press “Continue”.

7. Select “Normal Installation” and press “Continue”.
Optional: “Install third-party software…”
8. Choose the installation type. For simplicity, this guide was done using “Erase disk and install Ubuntu”
9. Select “Continue” to confirm changes will be made to the disk.
10. Choose the appropriate geographical location and select “Continue”.
11. Fill out the appropriate information and select “Continue”. Use the following details;
Your Name: meldCXViana
Password: meldCXViana
Select: Log in automatically
12. The Ubuntu installation progress bar will be shown.
13. Once the installation completes, select “Restart now”.
14. Remove the installation media and press Enter.
15. The user will land on the Ubuntu Desktop Screen.
