Preface: This article covers how to use chrome's inbuilt network diagnosis tool for testing network connections. This can help, in the event that your application is stuck on 'Waiting for network connection' screen.
Step 1: Boot up the affected device with a keyboard plugged in
Step 2: When it is stuck on the 'Waiting for Network connection..' screen please press 'CTRL + ALT + N'
Step 3: Please select 'Diagnose'
Step 4: Please select 'Run Diagnostics'
Step 5: Please take a photo of the results to report any abnormalities to your network manager.
