To prevent OS corruption, it is always recommended to safely shut down your device. Failing to do so can cause the device to get stuck while loading AgentM, or even flush its TPM token and lose its enterprise enrollment requiring it to be reenrolled.
Please and hold the power button until the screen goes black. You should see a little dialogue box appear in the middle of your screen when it is initially pressed. To ensure the device is completely powered off, the blue light behind the power button will switch off.
A paperclip is required to do this step. Please find the power button located at the back of the device and press and hold this until the screen goes black. Alternatively, you can briefly press it and then click the "Power off" button that becomes visible in the center of your screen. To ensure the device is completely powered off, the blue light located next the power button will switch off.
When devices are setup in kiosk mode, there is no way to power this off remotely or via our software. If you wish to power off the device via the OS, you will have to plug in a keyboard and restart the device (Either via the power button or restarting it from our cloud console). When it begins to launch AgentM, please abort the launch by clicking CTRL + ALT + S as the device is powering on, and then clicking the "Shut down" button seen on the bottom left.
Potential risks: Please note, once a device is powered off it can only be physically powered back on. This can be done by pressing the power button again, or by unplugging and replugging the power cable.
If your device powers itself back on after being powered off and the blue status light never turns off, then most likely a CDM setting has been put in place to prevent this. If you use our managed CDM, please raise a support ticket with us.
