The Chromebox Mini & Chromebase Mini do not have a real-time clock (RTC). This means that there is no internal clock on the devices to track the time. This generally is not an issue as the devices periodically check in with time servers to ensure the correct time is set on the device, and will automatically correct itself should the time be incorrect.
If the devices are switched off/have no power and have been switched on without network connectivity they will have incorrect times.
This can however be an issue if the devices are attached to a network that is locked down as the requests to update the devices time will be blocked by the firewall. To ensure that this doesn't happen please ensure that all hosts specified here are whitelisted.
The time zone on the device can be set via the CDM, for those that manage their own CDM this can be found here. Please note that the below settings are the default settings, and the devices should receive the correct time if using them.
