How to update firmware version
If the firmware is not the correct version, you can download the latest firmware, and the VLoader tool here.
Open the vloader tool located in the folder linked in step 1, the vloader tool should be named "VLoader.exe"
The terminal should enter the Bootloader state, this can be validated by looking at the screen of the terminal and observing if it is displaying the IDTech Logo as pictured below. If the terminal does not show the IDTech logo, it has not switched to the bootloader correctly. Please consider trying an alternative Windows PC and try again.
If the Vloader screen displays a message stating “Please reset the power” (as pictured above), please power off the VP8800 device by disconnecting the power lead to the terminal. After the screen has turned black reinstate the power connection.
The terminal should reconnect to your computer and the deactivated buttons on the left hand side should become active, as pictured below:
Click Download Bootloader
Select the bootloader file from the firmware directory
Click Open
Allow the bootloader firmware to download to the device
Click OK to the Status OK popup message
Click OK to the Download Complete message
Power off the terminal by disconnecting the power to the terminal
Click Download Image in the Vloader app
Select the Firmware Image file from the list of files in the firmware directory
Click OK to the Status OK message
Allow the Firmware to download to the device, this may take a while so please be patient
Once the firmware upload has been completed, you may reset the power to the terminal when instructed to do so.
Once the device powers back on and reconnects to your computer, click Continue Boot
You have successfully completed the firmware upgrade.
